The U.S. Customs and Border Protection (CBP) recently quietly updated its tariff regulations, announcing tariff exemptions for multiple categories of imported goods, including automatic data processing machines, computers, communication equipment, displays and modules, and semiconductor-related products. These goods will no longer be subject to the “reciprocal tariffs” previously imposed during the Trump administration. According to reports, if the relevant goods meet specific classification codes listed in the U.S. Harmonized Tariff Schedule, they will be eligible for this tariff exemption. The scope of the exemption covers key areas such as computers and peripherals, semiconductor manufacturing equipment, communication equipment, storage devices, display modules, semiconductor devices, and integrated circuits. Notably, this tariff exemption policy applies to all countries previously affected by the U.S. “reciprocal tariffs.”
